Trav Fryer’s Custodisco (or just custo) is a kiosk for fostering and documenting the relationships between people and things. Based on the thesis that things with a documented history are more likely to last, the kiosk, itself built using enduring technology, it allows users to make custom fabric or sticker tags to affix to items. These are printed with a unique QR code associated with an updatable history for the object, documenting a chain of care. 

The UBC appearance of custo will launch in conjunction with the Slow Fashion Season visible mending workshop on Friday January 23, 4-6PM. The maker, Trav Fryer, will be in attendance to demonstrate and workshop the kiosk.  

Presented in partnership with DWebYVR. (DWeb is “a movement of folks aiming to build our tech into the hands of our communities - decentralizing, distributing, making the web a decent place.”)
