The Slow Fashion cluster brings together scholars, artists and non-academic partners who are working on the complex problems of sustainability in textiles and clothing, to interweave our research and knowledge-exchange threads.
Artists, creators and designers have the power to influence taste and fashion and are key actors for advancing public knowledge about textile circularity. Our activities ultimately aim to inspire changed consumption habits by modelling more sustainable, conscientious textile use and production, and by guiding demand towards alternative products—making public dissemination critical work of the cluster.
Our knowledge exchange activities include those designed to make connections across cluster members and public facing activity: the annual Slow Fashion Season is the main outlet for knowledge exchange amongst cluster members and with the public and industry.
